Welcome to the Bayside Tool Library

The library is open by appointment
Wednesday evenings from 5:00pm-9:00pm

The Bayside tool library is a collection of tools for residents to borrow for one week at a time, with the option of extension via email if the tool is still needed. The website lists the tools available in the library, as well as tools residents in the building have on offer to borrow directly from them, I'll call those "Tool Connections" on this site.

To borrow tools

Tool Library Tools

To borrow a tool, search for what you need through the tool pages, if you find it, send an email to BaysideToolLibrary@Gmail.com. The tool you wish to borrow will be dropped off at your unit door on the first Wednesday evening after you have made your request between 5:00pm and 9:00pm. You must be home to receive the tool. You are responsible for disinfecting the tool when you receive it. The tool will be picked up from your unit the following Wednesday between 5:00pm and 9:00pm for the tool return. You are responsible for disinfecting the tool when returning.
Tool Connections Tools

If you see a tool listed in green as "Tool Connection" the details for connecting with the tool owner will be under the tool description. A 'Tool Connection' tool is held by the tool owner and you must contact the owner to arrange for pick up and drop off details. It is recommended you disinfect tools on pick up, as well as on return.

Note that all tools will be listed, so if you don't see it online here, the library doesn't have it!

Check in with the website often, the tool library will be growing as I continue to receive donations.

To contribute your tools

Donate

You donate your unwanted tools to the library and they become property of the library and loaned out to residents. You will not receive these tools back. If the Bayside tool library ever ends, these tools will be donated to a local tool library or charitable cause.

Lend to the library

Tools remain property of the building resident but are submitted to the library for periods of time and are available through the Bayside tool library to be borrowed. The resident receives their tool back when requested in as is condition.

Tool Connections Listing

Your tools remain in your possession and are on offer to be borrowed through you directly. Your tool is listed on this site as a 'Tool Connection' along with your name and email address to arrange to be borrowed. All agreements and borrowing terms are arranged through the tool owner by the borrower and not through the Bayside tool library.

If you have tools you want to donate to the library, to lend to the library, or to be listed as a tool connection, connect with me through BaysideToolLibrary@Gmail.com.
If you can contribute to the tool library financially, even very small amounts, this money will be used to purchase knife blades, saw blades, and other consumables that help support the tool library. Please consider doing this, or buying replacement parts for tools you borrow often.
