I'm a bath person; has anyone had success installing a new showerhead but with an option for a tub-filling type of flow? or a dual head, one for showers, and one to behave like the faucet we never got.
We have to fill the tub for our sons baths often, :) we just do it with the shower head removed and leave the hose in the tub. I attached a strong magnet to the hose and it holds the hose still as it fills.
Good call. With ours out the tub fills to the top in about 10 mins or so. I don't know that adding a new head would give you much more flow anyhow. If you need instructions:1. Unscrew the shower head from the hose.2. Look for a orangy yellow plastic piece inside the showerhead handle. Use needle nose pliers to pull out. You may have to pull really hard on it.3. Screw it back on.
The easiest thing you can do is take off the flow limiter in the current showerhead. You just need a pair of needlenose pliers. To install a new head would be easy if you can find one with higher flow. Most of the fittings are the same size I believe and you just screw it off and on.Installing a proper tub faucet at a lower height would be a significant reno that probably wouldn't be worth it.
If you have a link to what you are looking to install that would be helpful.

That's great; I'll do that. That's all I need.

oh, I'll start with removing the limiter; at least that'll let me fill the tub in less than 30 minutes! that does help. No renos in the plans.
